Hands-on environmental Education- the very best kind!
This year we worked with South Westland schools at Gillespie’s Beach and Jackson Bay. Our focus was on plant ID. After an outdoor session, I did a follow-up art session at school- this gave us the opportunity to revisit learning and to develop it- using the visual arts. At Fox school, we focused on plant ID, patterns and learning about painting with acrylics. In Haast and Fox Glacier schools we worked on plant ID and then collagraphs.
